Margie Naranjo, Santa Clara Pueblo, was a member of the Naranjo family. Her mother, Santanita Suazo, was her inspiration. Santanita taught her daughter the fundamentals of pottery making. Her sisters, Mae Tapia-Suazo, Shirley Duran, and (Candelaria) Candy Suazo also make pottery.
