Description

It is hard to believe that Jamie created this beautiful seed pot when he was only 16 years old. It is made of Zuni clay and nicely shaped and smoothed. This seed pot is slightly ovoid in shape. The vegetal paints have been applied very carefully. The Pot is divided into three section with three horizontal bands dividing the upper and middle sections and two horizontal bands separating the lower two sections.

The symbols appear to be rain, lightning, and seed shapes, and are quite appropriate for a seed pot. The tiny hole in the center of the top section was to keep seeds in the pot until it was time to plant. The small size of the hole did not allowing anything else to enter.

Anderson Jamie Peynetsa is following in his father’s footsteps and becoming quite a talented young potter.
