Franklin Peters is known for his very thin walled pottery and for the use of traditional Acoma imagery. His work is characterized by vegetal painted colors, and sharp lines. The bowl is a beautiful shape with a high shoulder. It is painted with a fine-line rain pattern and alternating rain and cloud designs.  The imagery beautifully encircles the entire surface of the jar. The rim of the jar is painted black with a fine black line separating the design from the rest of the bowl.

Franklin Peters is an incredible artist with great attention to detail. He has stated that the “pottery itself is mother-earth…. designs are about the world around us, which have meaning.”

Franklin has won numerous awards and recognition during his career, including Santa Fe Indian Market 2015 and The Heard Indian Show 2016.

Condition: There is some very minor spalling and a small ripple spot as shown in the picture. None of this affects the structure or the quality of the beautiful piece of pottery.
