This is an interesting piece, by Ruth Paisano, an Acoma potter active from the 1980’s forward. Ruth B. Paisano is the daughter of Frances Pino Torivio.
Ruth has created two different distinctive fine lined patterns on each side of the seed pot. This is traditional Acoma pottery that has been hand coiled and painted with vegetal paints. It is 4 ½ ” height X 5″ diameter. Signed “Acoma, N.M. Paisano 4R7” in dark slip on bottom. This piece dated from around 1990.
Condition: Excellent to very good- original condition with two small spots of spalling on one side.
Provenance: Purchased from a private collector in Arizona.
