This buffalo fetish is a beautiful carving representing endurance to overcome adversity, great emotional courage, and the ability to be a provider to all. It is beautifully carved from a large piece of Kono Dolomite, which has beautiful striations of pink, cream and brown throughout. The eyes are inlaid sterling silver, while his horns are carved shell.  This stunning buffalo is large and conveys a presence, just as buffalo do in the wild.

Kono Dolomite is from Michigan and the stone is between 2.1 to 2.2 billion years old. These stromatolite formations are from some of the first life on earth.  Because of the great age, and due to the many trace minerals present, Kona Dolomite can be found in a wide variety of shades including pink, brown, yellow, and cream.
