Description
This vintage child’s drum was probably made for the tourist trade during the 1940s. It is not a wooden drum, but a metal can (old coffee can, maybe) that has been painted a bright red. Each end is covered with stretched rawhide laced with thin leather strips. This is the perfect item for a child to join in celebrations with a joyous drum beat. This vintage tourist drum was prpbably acquired at a tourist shop along the plaze in Santa Fe.
Condition: Good-original condition with some of the leather strips missing from one side.
Provenance: Orignally purchased by my great-grandmother from Oklahoma.
