Description
This small basket was woven with the white yucca weft far apart to show off the green of the bear grass warp. Baskets like this need to be kept out of the sun or the green color that makes them special soon fades to off-white that matches the yucca. This basket was woven by Della Cruz, according to its tag. She used the split-stitch technique with the white yucca, which gives the weft a lacy appearance. The Kokopeli on the lid is woven from Devil’s Claw
The lid is a nice touch that makes this basket one that can be used to store small items such as jewelry. When you look for a basket with a lid, choose one whose lid fits tightly, as this one does.
