Lee Ann Cheromiah is an outstanding traditional potter. Her mother, Evelyn Cheromiah was an award-winning potter who taught Lee Ann and her sisters Wendy Cheromiah and Mary Cheromiah-Victorino how to create beautiful pottery. Lee Ann believes wholeheartedly in following tradition in making her pottery, from offering prayers when gathering clay to letting the clay determine the outcome of the project. She uses all-natural pigments for her paints, and uses brushes made from yucca plants. This small olla has traditional designs painted with vegetal paints around it. The lower section has been painted with a red band.
The designs on this olla are repeated four times on each the upper and lower sections. The middle band is one continuous design.
