Description
Caroline Carpio is known for her elegantly formed vessels, and her spiritual connection with the earth and her ancestors. This is clearly evident in her work. In this one-of-a-kind bowl, Caroline has created a breathtaking work of art that will be treasured for generations.
The rim and carved designs are matte while the rest of the bowl is beautifully burnished to a high glossy shine. The inverted designs seem to be clouds with tiny raindrops falling all around. Rain and water are so precious for they allow the crops to flourish. The bowl is hand built with gathered clay tempered with volcanic ash for strength. The lovely bowl is the soft color of the clay found in and around Isleta – a beautiful melon color.
