Description

This beautiful jar is hand built with red earthenware clay using both the slab and coil method. The upper half of the jar has playful sgraffito daisies around the neck

It has been hand shaped, fired and burnished to a beautiful gloss. Karin uses natural elements to polish her pottery, which creates beautiful patinas and interesting patterns.

Karin’s pottery is reflective of Southeastern heritage and is a revival of Cherokee tradition – done her own way. She pays homage to traditional ware, often smoking her kiln fired pieces in a raku-like process to emulate the soft wood used in a fireplace look of heritage utilitarian pieces. Karin continues to win awards everywhere she exhibits her pottery-including Santa Fe Indian Market again in 2016

Condition: Excellent – original condition – new
