Description
A special Naming Bowl is created to use in a baby naming ceremony. It is specially made by a close family member for this important event. An infant receives his/her name in a special family ceremony on the equinox after the birth. This is the first naming bowl Jeff has ever made. It is a beautiful example of his talents as an award winning potter and of the culture of the pueblo.
This bowl is highly polished with kiva steps going up along the back of the bowl. The Tafoya/Roller signature bear paw in impressed into the bottom of the bowl. This beautiful piece of pottery is simple and quite elegant. It speaks of long traditions of the Santa Clara Pueblo.
This lovely bowl has not been used in a ceremony.
