Description

This small jar is one of Lonnie Vigil’s early pieces of pottery and is very different from the style he is known for creating. The walls are much thicker than on his other pottery. This jar is of very highly polished red glaze with a matte micaceous glaze with geometric designs around the top third. It is quite striking in appearance with the juxtaposition of the very shiny and the matte finishes.

Condition: Excellent- original condition
Provenance: Originally Purchased from the artist during Santa Fe Market; acquired from a private collection in Texas.
