Description

This wonderful olla features Anderson’s signature walking deer motif, as well as the deer in the house, representing hearth and home. Each of the deer has the “breath of life heartline” indicating the life force of the animal. The heartline is depicted a line in the shape of an arrow. The heartline begins at the mouth where breath gives life and points to the soul, or spirit, where faith and inner strength preside. It shows the Indian warrior’s heart is strong.

It is hand coiled and shaped, and then carefully hand-sanded. The clay is painted with vegetal and mineral paints before being fired.  It is signed and dated on the bottom.
