Description
This sweet seated bear is sculpted from the gorgeous glittering micaceous clay of New Mexico. He has been sanded smooth and sits with out-stretched arms and legs. Around his neck hangs a necklace of beads of turquoise and shell. In front of him, he has a drum with a beater, as if preparing for an upcoming dance or ceremony. The drum is made of wood and covered with rawhide and sinew.
He is quite charming and appears waiting to sound the cadence of the drum for the dance at the pueblo.
