Description

This buffalo fetish is a beautiful carving representing endurance to overcome adversity, great emotional courage, and the ability to be a provider to all. It is beautifully carved from a large piece of veriscite, which shows brown matrix throughout. The eyes are inlaid sterling silver, while his horns are carved shell in brown and cream.  This stunning buffalo is large and conveys a presence, just as buffalo do in the wild.

Veriscite is a relatively rare phosphate mineral and high quality specimens are used as gemstones and for carvings. Veriscite is often confused with turquoise, though Veriscite tends to be greener in color, rather than blue.
