This is a classic graduated disk bead necklace made from hand-turned stabilized Manassas turquoise beads. To make this maximally fluid as a strand, Lester strung a fine-diameter Heishi bead between the slices of turquoise. This necklace is beautifully made and very rare today, as so few artists are still making handmade beads. This is exactly the sort of Manassas turquoise that people love – it’s the richness of brown matrix that makes this type of turquoise so appreciated. It is strung on traditional beading string and finished with handmade beads of Mediterranean red coral at the sterling silver clasp.

Lester Abeyta’s necklaces of graduated beads are ground so carefully they create a fluid line as the larger stones taper to smaller and smaller diameters. This is a simple, but elegant design created by a master jeweler with a keen eye and a sense for color and balance.
