Description

This is a most unusual necklace of individually tumbled pieces of turquoise. Each of the hand-hewn spheres of beautiful soft green turquoise features the rough look of natural stone. The beads are graduated with the largest beads being in the center. These are around ¾” in diameter, while the remaining beads grow smaller with the smallest at the ends which are approximately 1/4” in diameter. Handmade from rough rock, these “gumballs” of turquoise are shaped with a grinder, then tumbled to a polished finish in a rock tumbler. Finally, they are drilled for stringing. The ends of the necklace terminate with a single sterling silver bead with traditional cones and clasp.

This unusual necklace is just perfect for everyday wear or a special event.

Condition: Excellent – original condition – new.
Provenance: Acquired from Lester through the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture.
